Black Hair Care Products

If you are an African American, Person of Color, Black or Brown however you choose to categorize yourself we all know that the majority of hair care products on the market are just not suited to our hair type, whether your are male of female.

Not only that but its hard to find really good black hair care products online, the operative word being “really good”.

I know you have tried most hair care products  on the market hoping to “luck out” on a product that makes your hair look like the hair of people you see on TV and in the magazines.

But are you paying close attention to the ethnicity of most of those people on TV, even the people of color in the media have hair on their head not belonging to their race, sometimes not belonging to the human race for that matter.

So what do we do? We run out and get generic hair care products in an effort to get our hair to look like what most of us have been socialized to believe is “beautiful hair”. Usually the result is disastrous which leads to disappointment and disgust.

Well let’s face it, our hair type, and texture are different than what we see often times in the media, its time we embrace our heritage and our beautiful hair and our diversity.  Even within our race we have hair color, texture and types that span the whole gamete of hair.

We all know of someone (or maybe we are that someone) who have fried their beautiful hair to a crisp using powerful, toxic and dangerous chemicals, in an effort to bring their hair into “conformity”.

Lucky for us we have the most forgiving and resilient hair on the planet! For most of us our hair after such onslaught, usually make a full recovery given enough time, care and restraint from using any other chemical.

We need to look for hair care products that are specially formulated for people of color.  We should look to highlight, enhance and promote the natural characteristics of our diverse hair texture and not try to destroy it.

Black hair care products are what we need to do just that and because I have tried almost all the products out there on the market, some with disastrous results, what you will find here on my site are products that are specially designed and formulated for African Americans and people of color.
